Some
of the comments that visitors left
“A Joy- each
moment, hoof beat and tail flick captured so perfectly just like the
everydayness of ponies and our lives with them, keep on doing the magic!”
Emma & Cherish –South Cornwall
“Love the sense of movement, energy and
spirit in your drawings, you have a unique style and gift. Thank you for sharing
them for us to view.”
Becky- Torquay
“Love your
photos, reminds me of my years at Princetown as a teenager, before cattle grids.
The ponies were free to roam the village in those days! Have brought a small
famed photo for my brother, who shared those happy days.”
Jeanne- Shaftesbury, Dorset.

together pieces of her work that represents her passion towards the Ponies of
Dartmoor in the most diverse way. This book is a collection of drawings,

Meier has gone back to looking at the horse and what it means to her, Strength, force and Power. She is developing work the shows this. Meier is finding inspiration from the Lusitano breed and it is quite similar to the Audalusian breed.
"I wanted to say that I love your work, it has power and energy but with a
softness too. You portray the horses and ponies with true feeling in the
different mediums you use it's always a pleasure to see....keep it coming. I'm
really looking forward to seeing your study on Lusitanos in the near future!" Words from Teresa Burton, Owner of Lusitano Horse Finder. Teresa lives in Portugal and is very fortunate to have daily contact with these wonderful horses.
The Quarter Horses an Explosion of Power
(Working title)
Next body of work...the
America Quarter Horse. Unsure
“Meier was looking to expand her portfolio of work on the horse. She came to the
Island Ranch in Ames, Oklahoma to experience the true American West. Here she
got to understand the working relationship between a cowboy and his equine
partner. She was blown away by the sheer toughness of these little ranch horses,
not to mention the spirit of the cowboys and cowgirls... She spent her time
following the cow boss and his crew, photographing, chronicling and drawing what
is a largely romanticised lifestyle, but got to see the true tenacity of cowboy
and quarter horse. You will see from Meier's photos and drawings she was able to
truly capture the harshness of the environment. We look forward to the up and
coming exhibition and continuing this work with Meier.........plus she can now
draw cows!!!!!”
